1:48 Martin B-26B Marauder is an Eduard photo-etched set that adds fine metal details to a model of the American medium bomber in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Photo-etch is thin metal sheet with etched parts that are nipped out of the fret and transferred to the model. The set moves a plastic model where injection-molded material could not reach, because a faithful rendering of some features calls for a fractional thickness. It is made by Eduard.
The Martin B-26 Marauder was an American twin-engine medium bomber with Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engines and a wing of small area, which gave it a high cruising speed but also a high speed on landing. Because of that it had a reputation among crews as a demanding machine in the early days, but after the airmen were trained and the wing modified it ended with one of the lowest loss figures among the bombers used over western Europe. The B-26B version made up the backbone of operations over the Mediterranean and over France.
Paint the photo-etch if possible while still on the fret and off the model; the individual faces are then finished with a brush. Metal calls for a base coat, as without it the paint slides off during handling. Seal the finished parts with varnish of the same degree of gloss as the surrounding plastic, so that the transition does not catch the eye.
