The extended version of the mask set for the model of the transport glider in the DFS 230A and 230C versions, 1:48 scale. It holds more masking elements than the basic set. It serves for painting the model; in itself it is neither a kit nor an accessory part.
The basic set deals mainly with the frames of the glazing. The extended version is aimed at the modeler who wants to have the other crisp transitions on the model under control as well and does not want to finish them off with tape freehand. The merit of cut film is that the shape is given in advance: you do not have to measure, trace or look for symmetry, which on a type with a long glazed nose saves a really noticeable amount of time.
The film takes being stored, but not heat and sun. Leave unused sheets on the original backing and keep them flat in a folder and away from any source of heat; a curled sheet adheres badly and the edges lift. If a mask starts to peel away at the edge once it is applied, press it down again and let it rest for a while before you start spraying. Remove adhesive residue from the glazing with a cotton swab moistened with cleaning alcohol, never with an aggressive thinner — that would fog the clear part.
The package contains masking film only. The model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery.
