The New Ware 1:48 Mask F-14D Tomcat BASIC set contains self-adhesive masks for a model of the F-14D carrier fighter. The basic grade concentrates on the main cockpit glazing.

Self-adhesive masks in 1:48 scale for a model of the F-14D Tomcat carrier fighter. The individual shapes are cut in advance, so they simply come off the sheet and go onto the model. The set is cut for the particular Tamiya 61118 kit. It is not a model of the aircraft but an accessory for painting.
The Tomcat has a large, markedly domed canopy with tandem seating. Masking such an area with tape by hand is a long job, because the tape has to be stretched over a double curvature and cut straight on the clear part. A shaped mask gets round this: the frames come out of an even width and there is no risk of cutting into the glazing with a knife.
The F-14D was the last production version of the Tomcat, a two-seat carrier fighter with a variable-geometry wing. Against the earlier versions it was given new engines and digital avionics. It left service with US naval aviation in 2006.
The package contains self-adhesive masks only. The kit, paints and glue are not included.
