1:48 Ju-88A-4/A-4 Torp/A-11/A-14 EXPERT masks is a New Ware masking set in the widest grade of the line for a model of the German twin-engine bomber in 1:48 scale. It deals with the most laborious part of the build: spraying the extensive nose glazing.

Pre-cut self-adhesive masks for a model of the Ju 88 bomber in the A-4, torpedo A-4, A-11 and A-14 versions in 1:48 scale. With New Ware the EXPERT grade is the widest version of the line, so besides the main glazing it also covers further parts of the airframe. The shapes are cut to the form of the ICM kit.
The Ju 88 was a German twin-engine all-metal aircraft used during the war in the bomber, torpedo, reconnaissance and night fighter roles. The A-4 version had a greater span and a strengthened structure, and the torpedo version was adapted to carry torpedoes under the wing. The A-11 and A-14 versions were derivatives of the basic A series for different operating conditions and armament. The crew of four sat together in the glazed forward part of the fuselage.
On the Ju 88 the glazed nose is literally a greenhouse: flat panes in many planes, between them a dense net of thin frames, and the ventral gondola on top of that. Trimming tape by hand over such an area is a job for several evenings and, above all, it is almost certain that the frames will not come out the same width. A pre-cut set shortens this stage to tens of minutes and makes the widths uniform. Work systematically, one pane at a time from the nose backwards, so as not to lose your place. Set the mask with tweezers, press it down all the way round with a soft stick and only then go on. Spray the glazing with the interior shade first, then with the outer camouflage. Spray thin coats straight from above; with so many edges a heavy coat would build a visible ridge at every frame.
