Cut self-adhesive masks for painting a model of the two-seat jet fighter in 1:48 scale. The product is not a kit and not parts for building, but an aid for the spraying stage. The EXPERT grade is the widest of the coverages offered for this maker's sets. The name gives both the German and the postwar Czechoslovak designation, because it is the same type of aircraft.
The two-seat version has a markedly longer canopy with more frames than the single-seat fighter. Cutting tape by hand for such a cockpit means dozens of strips, and it takes only two of them to come out at different widths for the eye to notice at once. A pre-cut set gives all the frames the same width and a sharp edge, even in the curves where tape is hardest to bend.
The Me 262 was the first jet fighter put into operational service. The two-seat B variant was created as a trainer conversion with two seats in tandem. After the war, several machines of this type were built in Czechoslovakia from surviving parts and unfinished production: the single-seaters were designated S-92 and the two-seat trainers CS-92. They served with the Czechoslovak Air Force at the end of the 1940s and are among the most interesting chapters of postwar aviation in this country.
Mask the cockpit only once the interior of both seats is finished and dry. On the long canopy work from one end and set the pieces with tweezers, not with your fingers. Spray light coats at right angles to the edge of the mask. Remember that the postwar and wartime machines differ in color scheme, so plan your undercoats in advance.
The package contains masking parts only. The model, paints and glue are not included. The masks are cut for a particular kit of this type, so check that they match your own model.
