A set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks for the model of the Yak-1 fighter in its early production form, in 1:48 scale. The masks are shaped to the parts of the Modelsvit 4802/4803 kits. The BASIC step denotes the basic extent of the set, aimed at the main glazed areas.
The Yak-1 changed markedly during production, including the shape of the cockpit and the rear part of the fuselage. The early forms had a different layout of canopy frames from the later machines, so a mask cut for the early version will not fit a later model. When buying, therefore, keep an eye on which version you are building and, where it matters, on which boxing of the kit you have, because the set is cut to the very parts stated in the name.
The Yak-1 was a single-seat fighter of mixed construction, in which wooden and metal elements went together with a tubular frame. It was powered by a liquid-cooled V engine, and the type became the basis of a whole line of development from which further versions came. The early machines differ from the later ones in the shape of the canopy and in details of the airframe.
This is an accessory for a plastic kit, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
