Responsibility details are not available.
A set of accurately pre-cut self-adhesive painting masks from the Czech maker Eduard for the model of the Italian Macchi C.202 Folgore fighter in 1:48 scale. It is neither a kit nor a model: it is an accessory that makes it easier to paint the canopy glazing and other small areas cleanly. The masks are applied directly to the parts, so the framing of the glazing gets sharp straight edges with no laborious cutting of adhesive tape. Sets of this type usually also include circular masks for the wheel rims, which make it easier to separate the tire from the rim.
The Macchi C.202 Folgore was an Italian fighter of the Second World War, powered by an inverted V12 engine derived from a German design. Compared with the older Italian machines with radial engines it brought markedly better speed and performance at altitude and became one of the most successful Italian fighters of the war. Its slender framed canopy is the typical place where masks make the work faster and more accurate.
Lift the mask carefully off the backing with tweezers or the point of a knife and lay it on a dry, degreased surface. Press the edges down carefully so that no paint runs under them. Apply the paint in thin coats, ideally with an airbrush, and pull the mask off before the coat has hardened completely. On strongly curved shapes it helps to back the edge with masking fluid.
This is a set of painting masks, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
