A photo-etched add-on set for the kit of the McDonnell F-4C Phantom combat aircraft in 1:48 scale, the manufacturer's part number 491486.
Responsibility details are not available.
The McDonnell F-4C Phantom is a two-seat twin-engine combat aircraft, the first Phantom version introduced with the US Air Force. It grew out of a machine developed for the navy and carries its unmistakable features: outer wing panels with dihedral and horizontal tail surfaces angled downward. The crew was two airmen seated one behind the other under a long canopy.
A photo-etched add-on set for the kit of the F-4C in 1:48 scale. The etched parts of thin metal sheet replace places where plastic cannot be thin enough and add the small details that get lost on the part from the kit. The extent of the set and the procedure for fitting the individual parts are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Leave the fret whole as long as possible and separate the parts from it only when their turn comes; a small part is hard to find on the bench. Cut with a sharp blade on glass or a hard mat and make the bends against a ruler or with a bending tool. Use super glue in minute amounts; the surplus dries into a white bloom that is very hard to remove from fine sheet. Degrease and prime the metal surface before painting.
The set suits modelers with experience of photo-etch who want to raise the level of detail of a large combat aircraft. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
