A photo-etched set of exterior details in 1:48 scale for models of the McDonnell F-4C Phantom II. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory that replaces or completes flat plastic parts with fine metal elements and so moves the surface of the finished model closer to reality. The set from the Czech maker Eduard is etched from thin metal sheet.
The F-4C Phantom II was the first production two-seat fighter-bomber of this legendary family meant for the US Air Force. The twin-engine machine with its powerful jet engines became famous in the sixties and turned into one of the icons of the Cold War and of the deployment in Southeast Asia.
The parts are nipped or cut out of the fret with a sharp knife, and the bends are made on a bender or along a ruler. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Before painting we recommend degreasing the metal and spraying it over with a primer for better adhesion.
The set contains photo-etched parts only. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
