Brengun 1:48 Me-163B-1a Komet is a photo-etched upgrade set for models of the German rocket fighter Messerschmitt Me 163B Komet in 1:48 scale. Intended for the Dragon and Revell kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set from the manufacturer Brengun contains photo-etched metal parts intended for detailing a model of the German rocket fighter Messerschmitt Me 163B Komet in 1:48 scale. It is an upgrade accessory to a plastic kit, not a standalone model. The photo-etched parts add the fine elements that injected plastic cannot manage in the necessary fineness: details of the interior, the instrument panel, belts and small fittings. The set is intended for the Dragon and Revell kits.
The Messerschmitt Me 163 Komet was a German rocket fighter from the end of the Second World War and the only rocket-powered fighter put into service. It was notable for its tailless layout, extreme rate of climb and short duration of powered flight; it landed on a retractable skid. The Me 163B-1a version was the main combat variant.
Separate the parts carefully with a sharp knife and form them with a photo-etch bending tool or tweezers. Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) in a small amount. Degrease the metal surfaces before painting and treat them with a primer. The color accents in the cockpit are enhanced by picking them out with shading.
An upgrade accessory. It is not a model of an airplane; the plastic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
