Eduard 1:48 Me 262B-1a masks is a die-cut self-adhesive masking set in kabuki tape for masking the glazing of the two-seat cockpit and the wheels of a model of the German jet aircraft. It is not a model but an accessory for clean painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Czech maker Eduard contains precisely die-cut self-adhesive masks in fine Japanese kabuki tape for a model of the Messerschmitt Me 262B aircraft in 1:48 scale. It is neither a kit nor a finished model, but an accessory that makes masking easier and more accurate while the paints are sprayed.
The masks are stuck onto the frames of the elongated two-seat canopy and onto the wheel discs, so that after spraying the glass stays clear and the tires free of paint. Kabuki tape adapts well to rounded shapes, holds tightly and leaves no adhesive when lifted off. Thanks to that the canopy frames come out crisp and straight without cutting tape by hand.
The Messerschmitt Me 262 was the world's first jet fighter to enter service in series, powered by two Junkers Jumo 004 jet engines. The B-1a version was a two-seater with the crew in tandem and served as a trainer; later it also provided the basis for night fighter conversions. The machine outstripped the piston fighters of its day in speed.
The set contains die-cut masking parts only. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
