An accessory for painting a model of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 of the G series in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit but flexible, reusable plugs that are put into the wheel bays and keep paint from getting into them while spraying. Most modelers have so far handled exactly this job by squashing balls of paper, with modeling clay or with a piece of sponge - improvisations that are hard to get out and leave marks behind.
The plugs are shaped for the relevant type of aircraft, so they seat themselves in an opening and hold by their shape, not by glue. Because they are flexible, they can be taken out once the painting is done without risk of damaging the fresh finish inside the bay, and on the next model you can use them again. Check the exact number of pieces and the material against the details on the packaging.
The Bf 109 of the G series was the most numerously built version of this German single-engined fighter aircraft; it was powered by the DB 605 inverted V12 and was built in many sub-versions, which differ in details of the cockpit, the armament and the cowling. That is precisely why so many accessories are made for it.
Block the bays off only after the joints are filled and sanded, just before the base coat is sprayed. Press a plug in so that it sits flush with the surrounding surface - if it protrudes, it creates a shadow at the edge and the paint goes on unevenly. Once the last coat has dried, take it out with tweezers. The interior of the bay is then painted separately, which for the final impression tends to matter more than the camouflage on the fuselage itself.
The package holds masking plugs only. Neither the model nor the paints are part of it.
