1:48 Messerschmitt Bf-110D exterior is an Eduard photo-etched set for the external details of a model of the twin-engine aircraft in 1:48 scale. It is an accessory for a kit, not a model.

A set of thin metal parts from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, aimed, as the name says, at the outside of a model. While interior sets deal with the cockpit, an exterior set works with the surface of the airframe: with the elements that are made of thin sheet on the real aircraft and inevitably come out oversized in injection-molded plastic. It is not a kit; the model itself has to be bought separately.
The Messerschmitt Bf-110 was a twin-engine heavy fighter with a crew of two and a long glazed canopy. The D version belongs to the early production forms of the type; it was conceived as a long-range variant, which is reflected in the arrangement of the tanks and of the external stores.
Exterior photo-etched parts are often glued onto an already sprayed surface, so plan the sequence in advance: where a photo-etched part is to go, leave the area free of a heavy coat of clear varnish, so that the joint holds. Separate the parts with a scalpel on a hard surface and sand the burr off with a fine file. They are glued with cyanoacrylate applied with a pin; on surfaces that will be seen, use a variant that leaves no white bloom. Before gluing, degrease the metal and spray it with a primer. If the set replaces plastic elements, cut those off first and level the area, as otherwise the new part will not sit flat.
The set is an accessory for a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
