Eduard 1:48 Messerschmitt Me-262A TFace is a double-sided masking set for a model of this jet aircraft in 1:48 scale. TFace means masks for the outer and the inner side of the glazing; it is not a kit or a set of photo-etched parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
Die-cut self-adhesive masks from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. So that the type of goods is not confused: this package holds masking templates for painting. It is not a photo-etched set with metal parts, nor the kit itself, which has to be bought separately.
A single-sided masking set covers the glass from the outside only. The TFace form additionally holds masks for the inner side of the glazing, so the frames can be sprayed in the interior shade from within and only then in the camouflage scheme from outside. The difference shows at once: cockpit frames showing through from within in the color of the exterior finish are among the most common shortcomings that even a layman notices on a finished model.
The Messerschmitt Me 262A was a twin-engine jet aircraft from the end of the Second World War, marked in design by a swept wing, a triangular fuselage cross-section and engine nacelles slung under the wings. The A series covered both fighter and fighter-bomber forms. The glazed canopy with its clearly readable division of frames is one of the identifying features of the type and is among the most exposed places on a model.
Apply the inner masks before you seat the glass into the fuselage, then spray the interior shade. Once the glass is in place, add the outer set and carry on with the camouflage scheme. Always press the edges down with a blunt point or a toothpick and apply the paint in thin coats, otherwise it will run under the edge. Lift a mask while the finish is still fresh. The set is cut for a particular kit of this type, so please check compatibility.
This is an accessory to a model, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
