This accessory in 1:48 scale represents a metal spool (drum) for cable or rope. It is a diorama detail, not a vehicle model: it belongs to stores, airfield aprons, railway stations and rear-area scenes. Resin printing keeps the ribbed construction of the metal flanges and the center.
A cable spool adds volume to a scene and suggests that work is under way. Standing by a hall, on an airfield apron or dropped in a yard, it works as a visual anchor. The metal version suits more modern and industrial scenes in 1:48 scale.
The parts are held on thin print supports. Before separating them it is worth dipping the set in hot water for a moment: the resin softens slightly, the supports are easier to cut away and the material does not chip. Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and do the sanding with respiratory protection. Metal suits a darker base, chipping of the edges with a dry brush and a hint of flaking paint and rust with pigments.
The accessory is supplied as a resin casting, unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and cable are not included in the package.
