The MiG-15UTI is the two-seat trainer version of the MiG-15 jet fighter with a tandem cockpit for a pupil and an instructor. The designation CS-102 was carried by the type in Czechoslovak license production, while the Polish SBLim-1 and SBLim-2 arose from converting single-seat license-built machines into two-seaters. All these machines served as training and conversion aircraft, and their markings differed markedly between users, which makes a rewarding subject for a decal set.
The two-seat versions have a long glazed canopy, and around it the surface of the model tends to be busy, so air is easily trapped under a decal. The silvered haze that results is recognized by the motif seeming to float above the paint, with its edge catching the light differently from its surroundings. Prevention lies in a cured glossy surface, a close trim of the carrier film and thorough expulsion of the water from under the decal. If a bubble appears anyway, let the area dry completely, pierce the film with the tip of a scalpel where the air is trapped and apply a drop of softener; it gets under the film through the hole and draws it down to the paint. Never try to push the air out by pressing on a wet decal, because the motif will shift or tear. Only once it is completely dry should you wash the surface and seal it with an overcoat.
