This is a SPACE upgrade set from Eduard, not a standalone kit. SPACE combines two technologies: relief color 3D decals (layered decals on a backing paper that bring three-dimensional, faithfully painted instrument panels and side consoles into the cockpit) and a sheet of steel (STEEL) etched parts with seat belts and small details. The set is developed for the MiG-17F plastic model in 1:48 scale from the Ammo brand; it cannot be used without the matching base kit.
The 3D decals have no adhesive layer of their own and the sheet is not dipped in water: moisten only the backing paper under the part, lift the element with tweezers, seat it on the interior part and fix it with white PVA glue. That does away with painting the instruments by hand. Leave out decal softener, as it would attack the printed resin of the decal, and cyanoacrylate glue does not belong on the decals. The steel etched parts (the belts) adhere well and take toning with oils as well as acrylics; they are glued with cyanoacrylate glue.
This is an add-on set, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
