MiG-21PFM/M/MF/bis Polish Stencils is a sheet of technical stenciling in 1:48 scale from the brand Model Maker for the later MiG-21 versions in Polish service.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set is a decal sheet of technical stenciling. These are not national insignia or fuselage numbers but the small service legends, warning marks and maintenance labels scattered over the whole surface of a real aircraft. According to the name it covers the later MiG-21 versions in Polish service, specifically the PFM, M, MF and bis. Check the scope of the sheet against the illustration on the packaging.
A model without stenciling looks empty, because a real aircraft carries hundreds of legends. As soon as you add them, the surface gains its sense of scale and the eye recognizes at once how big the aircraft really is. The difference is greatest on models in 1:48 scale, where the legends are still legible as lettering and at the same time small enough not to overwhelm the model. A set of this kind therefore goes well with a separate set of markings for a particular machine.
There are a great many legends and they are small, so work in sections rather than over the whole model at once. The ideal way is to divide the work by area: the wing first, then the fuselage, then the tail. The surface has to be glossy and perfectly dry. Use tweezers with a fine tip and a sharply pointed brush, transfer the decals onto a dampened spot and straighten them at once. Apply the softener in a thin layer, otherwise a small legend wrinkles and stops being legible. Once dry, rinse the adhesive residues off and seal the whole model with a matte or semi-matte varnish.
The package holds only decals with stenciling. The kit and the paints are not part of it.
