A set of adhesive masks in 1:48 scale for the model of the MiG-25RBF, intended for the ICM kit. In the name it carries the EXPERT extent designation.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MiG-25 was a Soviet twin-engine airplane built above all for high speed and great altitude of flight. You will recognize it by its trapezoidal wing, its pair of vertical tails and the massive angular air intakes on the sides of the fuselage. The RBF designation belongs to the reconnaissance range derived from the base version, in which the individual letters differ according to the equipment fitted. On a model it is a rewarding subject: straight surfaces and large glazing, where every overrun of paint is spotted at first glance.
Masks cut exactly to the shape of the individual areas take the place of applying tape and trimming it laboriously directly on the model. They save time above all on the glazing, where trimming by hand hardly ever comes out straight. The EXPERT designation in the name distinguishes the extent of the set from the basic form from the same supplier; what exactly it holds and in what order the masks are applied are given in the enclosed instructions. According to the name the set is intended for the kit from ICM; the shape of the parts from other manufacturers may differ.
The masks are applied to a clean, degreased and dry surface before spraying. Carry them with pointed tweezers, lay them in place and press the edges down with a toothpick, so that no paint runs underneath them. Spray in thin coats, as a heavy coat forms a step at the edge. Take the mask off as soon as the paint has set, not after it has cured completely, as that is when the edge tears least.
It is an accessory for a kit. The kit itself, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
