This etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard adds fine metal detail to a plastic kit of the MiG-29A in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory that replaces and sharpens selected plastic parts of the kit. It typically covers interior as well as exterior elements — the instrument panel, seat belts, levers and small covers — etched in thin metal.
The MiG-29, NATO reporting name Fulcrum, is a Soviet twin-engine fourth-generation fighter built for air superiority. The A version is the basic single-seat type. The machine became known for its excellent agility and its ability to operate from less prepared airfields.
Etched parts are cut from the fret, bent along the pre-scored lines and bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate); on larger surfaces a two-part epoxy helps. Tweezers, a photo-etch bending tool and patience are recommended — the set is meant for more experienced modelers.
This is a detail accessory, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
