A mask set for a model of the MiG-29K carrier fighter in 1:48 scale. It is neither a kit nor a part for the model but an aid for painting. The templates are cut to the shape of the glazing frames, so there is no measuring and cutting of tape straight on the clear part, where the surface is easily scratched. The result is a crisp division between the frame and the clear area even where the canopy is shaped into complicated curves. This is the basic form of the set; the brand makes a TFace form alongside it.
The MiG-29K is the carrier variant of the MiG-29 fighter, adapted for operations from aircraft carriers. Compared with the land-based version it has strengthened landing gear, an arrestor hook, folding wings to save room in the hangar and tougher surface protection against the marine environment. The aircraft takes off from a ski-jump deck, that is without a catapult. The modern MiG-29K descends from the MiG-29M line and serves with Indian and Russian naval aviation.
Wash the glazing and let it dry completely; masks will not hold on a greasy surface. Press the templates down with a blunt stick and concentrate on the corners. Spray the paint in thin coats, because one heavy coat will seep under the edge. Take the masks off while the paint is still fresh, otherwise the edge peels away with them.
