A masking set for a model of the carrier-based fighter MiG-29K in 1:48 scale in the TFace form. It is not a kit but an aid for painting. The designation TFace is established at Eduard for sets with templates for both sides of the glazing. The frames can then be painted from the inside as well, which pays off on the large canopy of a fighter and above all when you build the model with the cabin slid open. Without inner masking a frame stays in the shade of the clear part when you look inside, and that shows at close range.
The MiG-29K is the carrier-based variant of the MiG-29 fighter, modified for operation from aircraft carriers. Against the land-based version it received strengthened landing gear, an arrestor hook, folding wings for the sake of space in the hangar and more resistant protection against the sea environment. Takeoff is from a ski-jump deck without a catapult. The modern MiG-29K descends from the MiG-29M development line and serves with Indian and Russian naval aviation.
Wash the clear part and let it dry; a mask will not hold on a greasy surface. Fit the inner templates before you seat the canopy on the fuselage. Spray the paint in thin coats, so that it does not run under the edge, and take the masks off while the paint is fresh. The inner sides of the frames are usually painted in the shade of the interior, while the outer side is handled together with the camouflage finish of the airframe.
