The full interior set from Quinta Studio for a model of the MiG-31B. It brings details finished in color into both stations of the two-seat cockpit and uses them to replace the smooth surfaces on which a modeler would otherwise have to spend hours with the thinnest of brushes. It is purely an improvement to the inside, not a new structure for the fuselage. The individual elements are laid onto surfaces that are already finished and conform even to a slight curvature of the side panels.

The real subject

The B version represents the production configuration of the Foxhound of the 1980s, that is a machine with the original analog instrumentation. It was a heavy, fast interceptor built to patrol over thinly populated regions, where an opponent is picked up at long range. The rear station belonged to the weapon systems officer and differed noticeably in its equipment from the pilot's part.

Before fitting

• Assemble the cockpit tub and clean up the joints.
• Compare the subject with the documentation for the particular version.
• Work from the top down, so that you do not damage the surfaces already finished.
• Choose a matte final finish, as gloss suppresses the sense of relief.
• On a curved surface press the element down from the center toward the edges.
• Leave each fitted part alone for a while before you reach for the next one.
• Follow the instructions from the maker of the set.
