1:48 Mitsubishi A6M2a Reisen (inner and outer face) is a Dead Design masking set for models of the early A6M2a version in 1:48 scale. According to the name it covers the glazing from the inner and the outer face.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory to a model in 1:48 scale, not a kit. The masks are cut for the A6M2a version and the name states that they are meant for the inner as well as the outer face. The extent of the package is stated on the box of the set.
This is the main thing to watch. The A6M2a is an early variant of the type and differs from the later A6M2b, so a mask cut for one of them need not fit the other. The two sets are therefore offered separately. Before you order, check which version your model represents. The distinction by version is part of the name.
Glazing frames are a test a decal rarely passes. The film buckles over a curved canopy and in the bend it gives itself away by a different sheen. Brushwork gives strokes and a line that visibly wavers along a long run. A mask sets the line by machine and you take the same paint as for the fuselage, so frame and skin make one whole. The double form also settles the inner face, which a brush practically cannot reach.
Wash the clear part and do not touch it with your fingers afterward. Do the inner masking and spraying before gluing the canopy to the fuselage. Lay the paint on thinly, at right angles and in several coats, so that no ridge forms on the line. Take the mask off while the paint has only set, with tweezers, at a shallow angle backward.
This is an accessory for a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
