A set of photo-etched parts in 1:48 scale for a model of the British twin-engine de Havilland Mosquito in the B.Mk.IV and PR Mk.IV versions. The metal parts replace details that are necessarily coarser in plastic.
Responsibility details are not available.
The de Havilland Mosquito was a British twin-engine aircraft with an airframe of largely wooden construction and a crew of two. It was powered by two twelve-cylinder Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engines. The B.Mk.IV version is the bomber form without defensive armament, which bet on speed instead of machine guns; the PR Mk.IV reconnaissance form grows out of it and carries photographic equipment instead of bombs. The light monocoque structure gave the aircraft the performance with which it could outrun a great many opponents.
A set of photo-etched parts in 1:48 scale. Photo-etch is made of thin metal sheet, so it captures features where plastic is always somewhat thicker than reality allows. The instructions enclosed by the manufacturer give the extent of the parts, their placement on the model and the kit they are meant for.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not with pliers, which will twist the sheet. Level off what is left of the tab with a fine file. Make the bends along the pressed lines, ideally in a bending tool or between the jaws of flat tweezers. You will not join metal with cement for polystyrene, so reach for cyanoacrylate glue or epoxy and apply only a minute amount so that the glue is not squeezed out into the surroundings. Before painting, degrease the sheet and lay a base coat on it, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface and will flake off during further handling.
A kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
