Eduard 1:48 North American F-100D Super Sabre seatbelts STEEL is a set of color photo-etched seat belts in steel for the cockpit of the model in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard holding color-printed seat belts for the cockpit of the model of the F-100D Super Sabre in 1:48 scale. The STEEL designation means a steel fret instead of the usual brass: steel is stronger, springier and holds its shape once bent, so the strap can be made to drape naturally over the edge of the ejection seat. It is not a kit and the model of the aircraft is not included in the package — it is a focused accessory for a kit you already have.
The F-100 Super Sabre was an American single-engine jet aircraft of the 1950s and the first production fighter in operational service able to exceed the speed of sound in straight and level flight. The F-100D version was a fighter-bomber conversion with extended equipment and an enlarged vertical tail. The cockpit of these machines was fitted with an ejection seat and a multi-point harness, which is exactly what this set covers.
Cut the steel parts out with a scalpel rather than breaking them out — the tabs hold more firmly than on brass. First draw the strap between your fingers over rounded tweezers so that it takes on a soft curve; never crease it at a sharp angle. The belts are best fitted once the cockpit has been painted and given a matte coat, when you have free access to the seat. Glue with super glue in a minute drop applied with a piece of wire, as an excess would fog the printing.
The package holds only the photo-etched belts. The model, glue and paints are not part of it.
