The set holds the pilot's seat belts rendered as a color etching on steel sheet. Steel is more flexible than brass and makes it possible to arrange the belts naturally over the seat. The set is intended for the cockpit of models of the American P-38 Lightning fighter in the F and G versions in 1:48 scale.
The Lockheed P-38 Lightning was an American twin-boom fighter of the Second World War, powered by a pair of Allison engines. It stood out for its range and its armament and made its name above all in the Pacific. The P-38F and P-38G versions were among the earlier production machines. The belts in the roomy cockpit are a clearly visible detail.
Separate the steel belts with a sharp knife, shape them with tweezers and bond them with super glue. The color-printed parts are not clear coated over; only discreet weathering in the folds suits them.
This is a cockpit accessory, not a model of the airplane. Neither the base kit nor the paints are included in the package.
