Eduard P-51A masks 1:48 is a die-cut self-adhesive masking set for a model of the American P-51A Mustang fighter. It gives crisp color transitions on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage. It is not a model but a masking aid.
Responsibility details are not available.
This die-cut self-adhesive Eduard masking set in 1:48 scale is intended for a plastic model of the American North American P-51A Mustang fighter, that is, the early version with the Allison V engine. It is neither a kit nor a model in its own right, but a set of precisely shaped masks in thin yellow masking tape (kabuki). The masks will be appreciated by modelers who want crisp color transitions on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage areas without tediously cutting tape by hand.
The North American P-51 Mustang is an American fighter of the Second World War. The early P-51A form still used the Allison V engine and had a framed canopy with hinged side panels, unlike the later versions with the Merlin engine and the bubble canopy. The P-51A excelled in range and was used for fighter, reconnaissance and attack duties alike.
Degrease the glazing of the framed canopy and let it dry. Lift the masks off the backing and lay them on the individual frames, pressing them into the edges and filling the small cut-outs with a strip of tape. Spray the paint with an airbrush in thin coats. The masks for the wheels separate the tire from the disc. Once the paint has dried, peel the masks off carefully at a shallow angle.
The package contains masks only. The model, paints, glue and decals are not included, unless stated otherwise.
