A set of precisely shaped self-adhesive masks in kabuki tape for a model of the P-51B Mustang fighter in 1:48 scale. The masks make it easy to spray the frames of the glazed cockpit and the wheel rims cleanly without laborious cutting. It is not a kit — it is an accessory used when painting a finished or partly built model.
The North American P-51B Mustang is an American fighter of the Second World War with a V12 engine built under license from the British Rolls-Royce Merlin. Unlike the later version with a bubble canopy, the B type had a framed canopy with a fuselage spine behind it. The Merlin gave the Mustang its high-altitude performance and the long range needed to escort bombers.
The pre-cut masks in self-adhesive kabuki tape are stuck onto the cockpit glazing and the wheel rims, pressed into the engraved lines of the frames with a pointed stick, and then the area is sprayed. Once the paint has dried the tape is taken off and the framing stays clean and sharp. An airbrush gives an even coat; the masks can also be used for two-color camouflage masking.
This is a set of painting masks, not a model. The kit itself, paints and glue are not included in the package and are obtained separately.
