A colored self-adhesive photo-etched set from Eduard in 1:48 scale, intended for detailing the early Mustang in the P-51B/C versions. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory for a plastic kit. From the range of simplified colored sets, it focuses above all on the cockpit: it brings a color-printed instrument panel, seat belts and other fine elements that give the cockpit depth.
The North American P-51B and P-51C were early versions of the Mustang with the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine and the classic framed canopy, that is still without the later bubble canopy. It was precisely these long-range machines that began escorting Allied bombers deep over Germany and markedly changed the balance of power in the air war.
Peel the colored self-adhesive parts off and lay them in place; align them with the plastic parts, which sometimes have to be thinned. Bend the fine photo-etched elements accurately and fix them with cyanoacrylate. Finish and fit the cockpit before closing the fuselage.
This is a photo-etched detailing set, not an aircraft model. The basic kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
