Responsibility details are not available.
A set of pre-cut painting masks from the Czech maker Eduard in 1:48 scale for the American North American P-51D Mustang fighter. The masks serve to mask the frames of the bubble canopy accurately, and usually the wheels as well, during painting. It is an accessory for building a model, not the model itself.
The North American P-51D Mustang was an American single-engine fighter of the Second World War which, thanks to its Merlin engine and long range, escorted bombers all the way to targets in Germany. The D version is marked out by its bubble canopy with excellent visibility.
The masks are laid adhesive side directly onto clean, degreased canopy glazing and the other parts being masked, the edges are pressed down carefully and the areas between them are covered with tape or a masking fluid. The framing is then sprayed in the airframe color and, once dry, the masks are peeled off carefully. The pre-cut shape matches the division of the canopy, so laborious cutting of tape with a knife falls away. The masks are made for this particular type of aircraft; the kit itself has to be obtained separately.
Painting masks are not a model. The aircraft kit itself has to be obtained separately; glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
