1:48 Panavia Tornado ECR Italian - a 3D-printed color interior on decal paper from Quinta Studio fits out the cockpit of a model of the Italian Tornado ECR in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set is an accessory for modelers who already have a plastic Tornado kit. It contains color panels with raised relief printed on a decal carrier which are applied directly onto the cockpit parts and replace the hand painting of the instruments. The Tornado has a tandem cockpit, so the set covers the front and the rear station.
The Panavia Tornado is a two-seat combat aircraft with a variable-geometry wing, developed in cooperation between several European states. The ECR version is specialized in the fight against ground radars and in electronic warfare; the Italian machines for this role arose by modifying strike Tornados and differ from the German ones in details of equipment. The crew consists of the pilot and the systems operator in the rear cockpit, whose panels are adapted to exactly this work.
A finished cockpit is worth protecting. The printed elements have a surface that stands up to handling, but repeated touching with the fingers, rubbing from tweezers or masking tape applied later can mark it. If you know you will still be working around the cockpit, spray the finished interior with a very thin coat of matte varnish - not for the sheen but as protection. Spray from a greater distance and in several misting passes, so that the edge of an element does not lift under the pressure. If you plan a closed canopy you will usually not need the protection; with an open cockpit, on the contrary, it is in order. Never stick masking tape directly onto a printed panel.
