A plastic kit depicting the German medium tank Pz.Kpfw. IV in its late-production Ausf.H version. The model faithfully reproduces the characteristic Schürzen side armor plates on the hull and turret, including their mounts. Included weights fit into the lower hull, giving the finished model a satisfying heft in the hand. Decals for several marking options are included.
The Ausf.H is often described as the most mature and most numerous version of the Panzer IV. It carried a long 7.5 cm gun with high penetrating power, and more than two thousand were built from April 1943 to early 1944. Late production series can be recognized by their all-steel return rollers and cast idler wheels; the Schürzen side plates protected the crew from anti-tank rifles. The tank was the backbone of German armored units on every front of the Second World War.
Finish the running gear and the underside before closing the hull. Glue the parts with thin liquid plastic cement, and we recommend a base coat of primer and spraying with an airbrush. The thin Schürzen plates reward careful degreasing. For a realistic look, use dark washes in the recesses and dust or mud pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
