Complete service stencils for the Polish F-16C and F-16D, that is for both the single-seat and the two-seat machines in the inventory since the mid-2000s.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Polish Air Force re-equipped with the F-16 in two renditions: the single-seat C and the two-seat D. Deliveries began in the mid-2000s and represented the biggest leap in the modernization of that country's combat equipment since the end of the Cold War.
The service stencils on today's fighters form a dense network of small arrows, frames and warnings around the ejection seat, the filler ports, the tie-down points and the service panels. On a gray airframe they are almost inconspicuous, but without them a model looks empty and anyone can tell from close up.
The two-seat version has a longer canopy, a differently arranged spine and with it a different placement of some of the data. The sheet allows for both forms, so you pick the relevant set of lettering according to the machine you are building.
Lay the lettering down only after the basic camouflage has dried and a gloss intermediate coat has been applied. Work in smaller groups rather than all at once, or you will lose your way among the many small pieces. Compare the layout of the sheet with a drawing of the machine beforehand. The scale is 1:48.
Besides the sheet itself, a sharp scalpel, fine curved tweezers and a dish of lukewarm water that you change as you go will all come in handy. A magnifier on a stand does good service too, because with the smallest lettering tenths of a millimeter decide the result. Count on the complete stenciling of one fighter taking several evenings, and lay it out section of the airframe by section.
