A decal sheet in 1:48 scale with the anniversary markings of Royal Air Force machines from 2011 and 2012.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Royal Air Force keeps up the custom of giving selected machines a special finish, or at least a conspicuous design on the tail surfaces, for the anniversaries of its units. Such an aircraft differs from an ordinary production machine only in its surface, but it does so at first glance, and that is exactly why modelers so often reach for anniversary schemes. The name of the sheet refers to anniversary markings from 2011 and 2012, that is to machines in service in that period.
It is a standalone decal sheet in 1:48 scale, that is an accessory for a kit and not a model. The word Update in the name refers to the addition of newer schemes to an older range. Which particular machines, fuselage codes and lettering the sheet covers, and how many variants you can build from it, is given in the manufacturer's instructions supplied.
Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions that it is not a self-adhesive form. A self-adhesive film that has been soaked is irretrievably ruined, whereas an unsoaked waterslide decal can be soaked later. With an ordinary waterslide sheet, cut the item out as close to the artwork as possible, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest on the paper until the film shifts freely. The base should be glossy; on matte paint a silvered veil forms under the film. Blot the excess water away with a cloth from the center toward the edges and draw the item into the engraving with a softener.
A decal sheet is what is supplied. The kit, paints, varnishes and softener are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
