A turned metal air-to-air refueling probe to the NATO standard, in 1:48 scale from MASTER. The package holds one piece. It is not a kit and not an airplane model, but a precise replacement part that takes the place of the soft and easily damaged plastic part from the original kit. A probe to this standard is used on NATO aircraft fitted with an air-to-air refueling system.
The refueling probe is used to take on fuel in flight from an aerial tanker. On models it is a slender protruding element where plastic cracks or bends easily. A turned metal replacement is finer, perfectly straight and far more durable, and gives the model a detail that is true to scale.
Cut off the original plastic part and open up the seat with a fine drill. Glue the metal probe with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) or a small drop of epoxy. Degrease the part before painting and go over it with a metal primer so that the paint holds.
This is a replacement detail part, not a model kit. Paints, glue and the aircraft model itself are not included in the package.
