Eduard RF-4B/E masks 1:48 is a die-cut self-adhesive masking set for a model of the American RF-4B/E reconnaissance Phantom. It gives sharp color transitions on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage. It is not a model but a masking aid.
Responsibility details are not available.
This die-cut self-adhesive Eduard masking set in 1:48 scale is meant for a plastic model of the American RF-4 Phantom II reconnaissance aircraft in the B and E versions. It is not a kit or a model in its own right but a set of precisely shaped masks in thin yellow masking tape (kabuki). The masks will be appreciated by modelers who want sharp color transitions on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage fields without slow hand-cutting of tape.
The RF-4 Phantom II is the unarmed reconnaissance version of the famous twin-engine supersonic Phantom II. Instead of a radar and gun armament it carries reconnaissance cameras and sensors in a lengthened nose. The B version served with the US Marine Corps, the E version with the US Air Force and with a number of foreign users. The multi-part canopy over the two-seat cockpit is one of the most demanding places when painting.
Degrease the glazing of the multi-part canopy and let it dry. Lift the masks off the backing and lay them on the individual fields of the framing, pressing them into the edges. Mask the multi-part canopy section by section. Spray the paint with an airbrush in thin layers. The wheel masks separate the tire from the rim. Once the paint has dried, peel the masks off carefully at an acute angle.
The package contains masks only. The model, paints, glue and decals are not included, unless stated otherwise.
