The set contains pre-painted photo-etched steel seat belts for the cockpit of the Italian Savoia-Marchetti SM.79 bomber in 1:48 scale. Eduard's STEEL range is etched from steel and printed in color complete with stitching and hardware, so the belts are finished and do not have to be painted. This is not a model aircraft but a fine interior accessory.
Realistic seat belts bring an otherwise empty cockpit noticeably to life. Steel etch holds its shape better and can be bent and folded naturally so that the belts drape loosely over the seat, which neither plastic nor paper belts will do. The printed colors match the period finish.
Separate the parts with a sharp knife and shape them with tweezers for a naturally draped look. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate) in small drops. Paint does not have to be applied; the metal buckles can be brought out with a light dry brush or with a wash.
The accessory is supplied as a separate photo-etched set of belts. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
