A set of photo-etched metal parts for a model of the Sea Harrier FRS.1 in 1:48 scale. Etched sheet holds a sharp edge and a flat surface, so it suits everywhere injection-molded plastic looks rounded and imprecise. Which parts the set contains and where they belong is listed in the manufacturer's instructions.
The Sea Harrier FRS.1 is a British carrier-based aircraft capable of vertical and short takeoff, which let it operate from smaller ships without a catapult. The FRS designation sums up three roles, that is fighter, reconnaissance and strike. From outside you recognize it by the raised cockpit with its good view and by the nose reshaped for the radar. It was flown, among other occasions, in the Falklands conflict of 1982.
Make straight bends over the edge of a metal ruler; curves, by contrast, are formed by wrapping the part around a drill bit or a round handle. The metal keeps its shape and does not spring back if you bend it a little further than you need. Sand the cut tabs down, otherwise a sharp tooth stays on the outline of the part. Bond with super glue applied a drop at a time and hold the part until the joint takes. Degrease the metal before painting and apply a primer.
The package contains the etched parts only. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
