A photo-etched set of steel seat belts for the cockpits of American Second World War aircraft in 1:48 scale. Steel holds a bend, so you can give the straps a natural sag.

Photo-etched seat belts for the cockpits of American Second World War aircraft in 1:48 scale. The material is steel, which keeps its shape after bending considerably better than brass, so a strap thrown over the edge of a seat or hanging freely over its rim stays exactly where you put it.
In an open cockpit the seat tends to be the most exposed part, and belts molded into plastic are usually just shallow relief with no thickness of their own. A thin metal part looks more convincing simply because it has a real material thickness and can be moved into the position a belt had in the cockpit of a parked aircraft.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface and sand the remains of the tab with fine abrasive paper. Make the bends in a bending tool or over a sharp edge; steel will take even a later adjustment of shape. It is glued with super glue applied drop by drop on the tip of a toothpick. Degrease bare metal before painting and spray it with a primer, otherwise the paint holds badly on it.
The set is for modelers who are building American Second World War aircraft in 1:48 scale and want a more detailed cockpit. The package contains photo-etched parts only; the kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
