1:48 Seatbelts WWII Allied AF STEEL is a bundle of pre-painted Eduard photo-etched belts in steel, meant for aircraft of the Allied air forces of the Second World War in 1:48 scale.

This is an accessory set, not a model. In the STEEL line Eduard etches the seat belts from steel and prints them in color straight away, so they do not have to be painted. The Big Ed designation on the box means that it is a bundle of several separate sets brought together into one package. This item is aimed at the belts of the Allied air forces of the Second World War period in 1:48 scale.
Steel etching is more springy and, above all, it holds its shape better once bent. That is exactly what decides the matter with belts: a belt on a seat should look as if somebody had just put it down, so it should hang loose, fold over and in places even stray out of line. Brass etching gets into such a shape less easily and tends to straighten back out. Pre-printing moreover does away with the most delicate part of the job, that is painting the narrow straps and the fittings with a brush.
Cut the belts off with a scalpel right at the tab, so that no burrs are left. Shape them gradually, over the rounded tip of a pair of tweezers or a toothpick, and try the finished shape on the seat dry before you reach for the glue. Glue with a minimal drop of cyanoacrylate, ideally laid on with a pin. The pre-painted surface does not have to be painted further, but it will take a fine dark wash to bring out the fittings and a dry brush to suggest wear. Finish and fit the interior before the fuselage is closed up.
