An accessory from the Polish brand MASTER intended to replace the plastic parts on a finished kit of the SEPECAT Jaguar attack aircraft in the GR1 and GR3 versions. It holds a turned pitot tube and an angle-of-attack sensor probe. The exact number of pieces is stated on the packaging of the set.
Thin cylindrical protrusions are among the most troublesome parts in injection-molded plastic. They fill imperfectly, tend to be slightly bowed and, once out of the mold, carry a parting line that cannot be sanded off without thinning the part or breaking it. Turned metal is straight, concentric and keeps a constant diameter along its whole length. A pitot tube also gets a genuine opening at the front, which a plastic version by definition does not have. With an angle-of-attack sensor the main advantage is stiffness, because it is the part that suffers first when a model is carried.
Remove the plastic originals and drill the hole for the pin with a micro drill bit, increasing the diameter step by step until the metal part seats without force. Bond with super glue, or with epoxy, which gives more time to align the axis. Before gluing, check that the tube points exactly forward and on the axis of the fuselage; a crooked tube shows in a photograph more than any other mistake. If you are painting, degrease the metal with alcohol, apply a primer for metal surfaces and only then the covering shade. Leave the installation until the very end of the build, after varnishing and decals, and you will save yourself masking and bending.
