1:48 SMB-2 Super Mystere TFace from Eduard: a mask set of the TFace range, which covers the cockpit canopy of the French supersonic fighter from both sides.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set from the TFace range of the Czech maker Eduard. It differs from ordinary masks in thinking of both sides of the cockpit canopy: the outer shapes serve when spraying the camouflage, the inner ones when painting the frames as the pilot sees them. A model with the canopy raised and the ejection seat on show then reads convincingly, because the frames are not spoiled from the inside by fuselage paint or by untreated clear plastic.
In the late 1950s the Dassault Super Mystere B.2 became the first series-built western European aircraft able to exceed the speed of sound in level flight. It was powered by an Atar engine with an afterburner and its armament consisted of two 30 mm cannons supplemented by unguided rockets. Besides the French Air Force, the type was made famous above all by Israeli service, during which the machines took part in several Middle Eastern conflicts, and some of the aircraft later received American engines.
Before fitting the masks, rid the canopy of dust and grease, seat the shapes from the center toward the edges and press the edges down with a rounded tool. Apply the paint first in the interior shade and only then the camouflage, so that the frames have the right color from the inside. When you are finished, pull the masks away carefully with tweezers.
