A specialized set of self-adhesive Eduard masks in 1:48 scale for spraying the spiral on the propeller spinner of Focke-Wulf Fw 190D models. These are not cockpit masks but templates in kabuki tape that create a regular spiral motif on the spinner.
Painting an even spiral onto a rounded spinner freehand is very difficult. Pre-cut masks give a symmetrical and sharp pattern. The procedure is simple: the spinner is first sprayed in the color of the spiral (usually white), the masks are stuck on and then the base color of the spinner is sprayed over them. Once the masks are lifted off, a clean spiral remains.
Degrease the spinner thoroughly before masking and let the base coat dry well. Lay the masks on dry and press the edges down carefully, so that paint does not creep under them around the curve. Remove them while the top coat is still fresh.
The templates contain neither paint nor glue; this is an accessory for a model sold separately.
