This decal set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard brings British national insignia of the late Second World War period, intended for building a Spitfire in 1:48 scale. It suits as a quality replacement for the decals from a kit, whose printing and saturation vary, and also for projects where the original markings went onto another model or do not match the marking scheme chosen.
The form and placement of British roundels changed several times during the war, so the right markings are as important to a convincing late-war Spitfire as the camouflage. A consistently printed set gives accurate circles, saturated colors and coverage even over a light surface, which is exactly what kit decals often lack.
Apply the decals over a gloss surface, or you risk silvering. Dip the piece briefly in lukewarm water, slide the decal into place and settle it with a softening solution so that it sinks into the engraved lines. Once perfectly dry, go over it with a clear coat: a final flat or semi-gloss coat evens the surface of the model out.
