Eduard Spitfire Mk.IX 1:48 is a photo-etched detail set from the Czech manufacturer for a plastic kit of the famous British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX fighter. It adds fine metal parts; on its own it is not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard adds fine metal detail to a plastic kit of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane model but an accessory that replaces and sharpens selected plastic parts of the kit. It typically covers interior and exterior features - the instrument panel, seat belts, levers and small covers - etched in thin metal.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX was a British fighter with the Rolls-Royce Merlin 60 series engine with a two-stage supercharger. It was created as a rapid answer to the German Fw 190 and became one of the most widespread and most successful versions of the whole Spitfire family.
The photo-etched parts are cut from the fret, bent along the pre-scored lines and bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate); on larger areas a two-part adhesive helps. Tweezers, a photo-etch bender and patience are recommended - the set is aimed at more experienced modelers.
This is a detail accessory, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
