Responsibility details are not available.
According to the name the item concentrates on markings, that is on national insignia and codes, not on technical stencils. Neither the extent of the sheet nor the method of application is stated, because they do not follow from the sources. A Spitfire kit is a separate item; this one adds to a finished model the last layer, which decides its identity.
The Spitfire Mk.IX came about as a fast answer to the German Focke-Wulf Fw 190, which in 1941 gained the upper hand over the earlier versions of the Spitfire. A Merlin engine with a two-stage two-speed supercharger was built into the proven airframe, and the result was a machine with markedly better performance at high altitude. The version was divided according to the altitude rating of the powerplant and was produced in enormous numbers; units of the Commonwealth flew it as did foreign squadrons including the Czechoslovak ones. The Mk.IX tends to be the most frequently built version of the whole family.
Builders of British fighters in 1:48 who want their insignia sharp and without a glossy edge. It is also of interest to those who build several Mk.IXs side by side and are looking for variety in markings.
