A set of color-printed photo-etched seat belts in steel from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It is neither a kit nor an aircraft model: it is a detail accessory that replaces shapeless plastic belts, or missing ones, in the cockpit. The belts come printed in color from the factory, so they need no painting; just cut them from the fret, shape them and glue them onto the seat. Steel also holds the shape of a bend better than softer brass.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX was one of the most successful British fighters of the Second World War. It arose as a quick answer to the German Fw 190 thanks to the more powerful Rolls-Royce Merlin 60 series engine, and it served on every front. British fighters used distinctive straps with metal fittings, and a faithful etched rendering of them brings the cramped Spitfire cockpit to life.
Cut the part off close to the fret with a sharp knife and shape the bends over the edge of a ruler or with a bending tool. Bond it with a tiny drop of super glue (cyanoacrylate), ideally the gel kind. Because of the size of the parts the set suits more advanced modelers; tweezers and a magnifier help. Protect the printed color against sanding through and against aggressive thinners.
This is a cockpit accessory, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
