Quinta Studio 1:48 Spitfire Mk.V is a three-dimensional (3D) interior decal for the British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.V fighter. The set is cut for the Airfix kit in 1:48 scale.

This is an accessory set, not a kit of the aircraft. Quinta Studio prints the interior elements three-dimensionally and already in color onto decal paper, so the instrument panel, the side frames of the fuselage, the controls and the seat belts gain relief and color at the same time. In 1:48 scale the dials of the Spitfire are tiny and very hard to paint by hand, and a three-dimensional decal handles them in a fraction of the time.
Mind which variant you pick: Quinta releases sets for this type cut for different kits. This one is intended for the Airfix kit in 1:48 scale; if you are building a model from another maker, reach for the matching variant, otherwise the shapes may not fit.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.V is the most numerously built version of the famous British single-engine fighter. It was powered by a supercharged Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 and the machine was delivered with several types of wing, which differed in armament; tropicalized forms with a filter under the nose served as well. The cockpit of the Spitfire is fairly cramped, with a tubular structure along the sides and the characteristic door on the left side, which on models is often built open, so that the interior is clearly visible.
Quinta three-dimensional decals are released from the backing paper in water like wet decals: the part is soaked in lukewarm water for about fifteen seconds and slid into place. A softener or a setting solution, however, is not used on them at all, as they would damage the printed resin layer. They are seated on a finished, painted and degreased interior surface gone over with gloss varnish, on which they hold, so spray the cockpit with interior green first and let the paint cure. The particular procedure is given in the instructions enclosed with the set. Line the parts up against the kit parts in advance, lay them down dry and only then press them home. Let the belts hang loosely over the edges of the seat, as that looks more natural than gluing them flat.
This is not a kit of the aircraft but an accessory set. The base model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
