Responsibility details are not available.
This die-cut self-adhesive Eduard masking set in 1:48 scale is meant for a plastic model of the British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.VIII and Mk.IX fighter. It is not a kit or a model in its own right but a set of precisely shaped masks in thin yellow masking tape (kabuki). The masks will be appreciated by modelers who want sharp color transitions on the glazing, the wheels and the camouflage fields without slow hand-cutting of tape.
The Supermarine Spitfire is among the best-known British fighters of the Second World War. The Mk.VIII and Mk.IX versions received the powerful Rolls-Royce Merlin 60-series engines with a two-stage supercharger, which let them keep the upper hand against the new German fighters. The Mk.IX came about as a rapid answer to those new opponents, while the Mk.VIII was the more considered version with a range of further refinements.
Degrease the canopy glazing and let it dry. Lift the masks off the backing and lay them on the frames of the windscreen and of the bubble section, pressing them into the edges. Spray the paint with an airbrush in thin layers. The wheel masks separate the tire from the rim. Once the paint has dried, peel the masks off carefully at an acute angle.
The package contains masks only. The model, paints, glue and decals are not included, unless stated otherwise.
